This year 4 new artists joined the M+P family, we released 7 full-length albums, 6 EPs and countless singles. As we entered 2019, we knew we had a lot to live up to from the previous year which included tons of amazing releases and our 10 year anniversary celebration. Sure enough, we lived up to the hype and are beyond proud of everything we accomplished this year. There are too many highlights to count including Tycho's GRAMMY nomination for 'Weather,' Caamp's first #1 radio hit with "Peach Fuzz," and so many more. 2019 Releases
This year we released 7 full-length albums including: Alice Merton’s MINT, FIDLAR’s Almost Free, Jai Wolf’s The Cure to Loneliness, Bayonne’s Drastic Measures, Caamp’s By and By, Tycho’s Weather and Sleater-Kinney’s The Center Won’t Hold. We also released 6 EPs including Sunflower Bean’s King of the Dudes EP, Ashe’s Moral of the Story: Chapter 1 & Chapter 2, Raffaella’s Ballerina EP, FKJ’s Ylang Ylang EP, and Beach Bunny’s Prom Queen EP. But let’s not forget about the countless singles from our artists with highlights like Neon Indian’s “Toyota Man,” Hinds’ “Riding Solo,” Caamp’s “Peach Fuzz,” Alina Baraz’s “To Me,” Courtney Barnett’s “Everybody Here Hates You,” and Tash Sultana’s “Can’t Buy Happiness.”
New Members of the Mom + Pop Family
In 2019 we welcomed four new artists into to the Mom + Pop family: Tycho, Sleater-Kinney, Caamp, and Beach Bunny. For Tycho and Sleater-Kinney, it has been an immense privilege to welcome these genre-defining artists into our family and work with them to support the next stages of their artistic development. Both Tycho’s first ever vocal album ‘Weather’ (which is nominated for a GRAMMY) and Sleater-Kinney’s experimental record ‘The Center Won’t Hold’ (produced by Annie Clark aka St. Vincent) were labors of love and risk-taking; risks which undeniably paid off. On the other end of the spectrum, we are beyond excited to be working with artists like Caamp and Beach Bunny as they release their first ever label-backed albums and reach for new heights in their careers. Caamp proved themselves a household name climbing to the top of radio charts across the U.S. with their hit “Peach Fuzz” and selling thousands of tickets in major cities around the world. Beach Bunny launched full force into an album campaign for their upcoming debut record ‘Honeymoon’ which is nothing short of extraordinary (see below for more info). 2020 is on the horizon, which means it’s time for a new decade. We’re looking forward to continuing to support and elevate indie music in the next decade and can’t wait to share some new announcements at the top of next year…. stay tuned!
Upcoming 2020 Projects
We have a bunch of new music coming for you in 2020 are so excited to share everything with you! Beach Bunny has announced their upcoming debut album Honeymoon out on February 14th, 2020. Tycho also recently released an instrumental single “Stress” alluding to a new instrumental release in the works. Be on the lookout at the top of 2020 for more new music from Mom + Pop artists plus some announcements on new artists joining the family.
