A new and gorgeous chapter from Courtney Barnett is officially out today with the release of her instrumental album End Of The Day. Comprised of 17 improvisations that were originally recorded in 2021 as part of the score to the film Anonymous Club, Barnett returned to these tracks a year later, remixing, re-ordering and reframing them into a seamless meditative collage.

Del Water Gap releases single “Quilt of Stream” that comes off his forthcoming album I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet, arriving September 29. The harmonically rich “Quilt of Stream” was co-written by Arlo Parks and features her alluring, lush vocals. Jai Wolf releases his new single “Don’t Look Down” featuring BANKS. Jai Wolf is set to begin his North American tour on August 9 in Phoenix, AZ. The song features crescendoing strings leading into BANKS’ impressive vocal performance and is co-written by Jai Wolf and BANKS, along with Matthew Koma, Lauren Mayberry (CHVRCHES), Martin Doherty (CHVRCHES) and Ryland Blackinton (Cobra Starship). Fresh off his first tour in the US, supporting JAWNY and his first international dates in London, Paris, Copenhagen and Brighton, the new EP is a manifestation of SEB’s expanding skill as a producer and songwriter as he continues to experiment with both his sound and his sources of inspiration.

Amidst a pastiche of staccato synth bass and paint-peeling sax, Flore Benguigui (of French nu-disco band L’Impératrice) and Alan deliver a multilingual Italo-disco duet detailing a film set with boiling tensions beneath the surface. In keeping with the song’s theme and Palomo’s background in film, the single arrives accompanied by a cinematic music video that acts as an homage to the 70’s Giallo subgenre.

Courtney Barnett has today announced the release of the instrumental album End Of The Day. Comprised of 17 seamless improvisations which were originally created as part of the score to the documentary about Barnett titled Anonymous Club.

Jai Wolf announces a new tour for the summer and fall in the US, paired with a new single, “(I Dread The Day He Takes You To) Paris [feat. MYRNE],” all as part of a new era he calls “Blue Babu”. The new  music comes on the heels of Jai Wolf’s recent performance at Coachella, where he took the stage in front of a sold-out crowd under the sunset desert sky. Rage Against The Machine, the prolific metal band including guitarist and Mom+Pop Music artist Tom Morello, have thanked the institution for their upcoming induction into the class of ’23. Today we announce a new addition to Mom+Pop Music: genre-defying artist underscores whose first release ushers in the Wallsocket era with new song and video, “Cops and robbers.'' 

After taking the year off to write music in Wallsocket, MI, last Friday underscores began revealing the happenings in Wallsocket. The trailer and a statement across Youtube, Twitter, and Instagram stirred fans to hunt for information in deciphering what is happening in the town. 

In her typical understated and mysterious fashion, underscores noted, “‘Cops and robbers'  is one of the first ideas I wrote when I was staying in Wallsocket. I’ve never really allowed myself to write from the perspective of characters too much in my previous work — it was really fun.”

Alan Palomo, the auteur musician/producer behind the long-running avant pop project Neon Indian, has shared “Nudista Mundial ‘89,” his first release under his own name. Palomo brought the song to fruition at Mac Demarco’s studio (who also features on the recording) upon learning that he had some key pieces of gear that would help manifest the sun-bleached, funky electro-pop earworm.

SEB has shared his first two singles of 2023, “sugarhoneyiceicetea” and "moving on (featuring Khary),” in anticipation of a new forthcoming project. Akin to last Fall’s “loving u is harder,” the new songs demonstrate the solo artist’s deepening skill set as a producer and musician (particularly in an unpredictable swerve into jazz during the bridge of “sugarhoneyiceicetea,” on which he played all the instruments).
