LA-based artist and producer SEB has just shared a new project we were so beautiful alongside a new video for the EP standout “home2u”. Fresh off his first tour in the US, supporting JAWNY and his first international dates in London, Paris, Copenhagen and Brighton, the new EP is a manifestation of SEB’s expanding skill as a producer and songwriter as he continues to experiment with both his sound and his sources of inspiration. "When I was making this project, I started to find a lot of inspiration through fiction,” he explains. “it’s okay we’re dreaming I and II were more like snapshots of my life at the time. I kept those as truthful and honest as possible. But I wanted to reach beyond me for this one. I wanted to tell stories and explore different feelings that are new and fresh to me. My favorite ‘genre’ of writing is love songs because of the language used in them. I wanted to explore as many emotions as I could using that language. So take these songs as a collection of short stories. heartbreak, fear, love, fun, all of that."
An adventure to demonstrate his skill as both a producer and musician, the tracks across the EP benefit from SEB's diverse taste and eclectic inspirations as well as his reflective attitude. This spirit of experimentation is obvious on the EP track "home2u," in which he draws on repetitive house rhythms to create a pulsating, driving beat, before switching things up for a bridge which showcases his love for The Beatles. Similarly on the recently released (and fan favorite at recent shows) "sugarhoneyiceicetea" SEB fluidly swerves from dreamy bedroom pop into an ambitious jazz bridge, on which he performs all the instrumentation. Meanwhile “moving on” marks the first time he’s tapped another artist for a feature, bringing in a verse from Khary that provides a rap counterpoint to the sunset pop vibes of the hook.
