Ahead of the June 24th release of their newest album Lavender Days, Caamp has released the track “Lavender Girl” along with the Stefano Bertelli-directed animated video. Described as the “spirit song” of the record by lead-singer Taylor Meier, “Lavender Girl” is a gorgeous ballad released right in time for Spring’s turn into Summer.
Earlier this month Caamp released the album’s single “Believe,” a rousing declaration of devotion with Caamp’s signature harmonies and lead-singer Taylor Meier’s well worn vocals at the center. It’s currently #2 on the Americana radio chart and is the most played track on Sirius XM’s Spectrum channel. “Believe” sits at #4 on the Triple A chart, a place where Caamp has achieved multiple #1’s.
Lavender Days was produced by Caamp and Beatriz Artola (Fleet Foxes, Adele, Sharon Van Etten). Initial recording took place at Sylvan Esso’s studio just outside of Durham, NC beginning in February of 2021, where together Caamp workshopped the songs and began principal tracking, bringing in friends like Nathaniel Rateliff and Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield to contribute vocals. When it was time to finish the record, the boys headed home to Columbus, OH to wrap it up, with help from Artola, the way they always have, in their humble home studio - just them and their instruments, in their hometown. Lavender Days is available for pre-order here including an exclusive clear vinyl via the band’s website: www.caamptheband.com.
