FKJ Releases Personal New EP 'Ylang Ylang'

Following the release of last week’s collaborative single “Risk” with Dreamville’s Bas, FKJ has dropped his new EP Ylang Ylang. The EP drew its name from a remote location in the jungle and was the result of a tumultuous year that saw FKJ relocate and isolate himself from the world in search of a change in environment and lifestyle. FKJ spent the next 6 months isolated in the jungle surrounded by beautiful landscapes, mountains, and beaches. Ylang Ylang is the culmination of FKJ’s feelings while creating the EP.

FKJ explains, “Last year I spent about 6 months in a very remote tropical place where I set up a studio. There is almost no one there. No electricity. I was making music out of a generator that was running only by night. The most beautiful landscapes, mountains, beaches. It’s one of my favorites places in the world. No need to say exactly where it is. It doesn't want to be known. When I would make music there it felt in a kind of dream state. I wanted to replicate that feeling with that video that was strong when I made that piano piece. It was like I was traveling out of my body to all these surroundings.”
