Maya Hawke has released her third single “So Long,” from her upcoming debut album Blush (out June 19th). Blush is a deeply personal album, made as a collaboration between herself and GRAMMY-award winning songwriter/producer Jesse Harris. “So Long” follows “Coverage,” and “By Myself.” In Maya’s own words:
“It is a song about how people and your relationships to them can become bigger inside your head than they are in reality. If you spend enough time thinking about someone, you change that person, at least in your imagination, from a memory to a character.
That character, ghost, friend, can change the way you think about your real relationships...even though they barely exist, they can have this powerful effect on the way you see the world. This song acknowledges that delusion and say goodbye to them...in order to be able to be more present in the moment.”
