Courtney Barnett has graced the world with her awesome, animated video for Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit standout track Dead Fox, and it may just be the best thing you'll see all day. The song is about corporate greed and big business, and the impact these corporations have on our lives, in particular the way they influence what we eat and how we get our groceries into our fridges. The video, directed and animated by Rory Kerr and Paul Ruttledge, forms a very imaginative and original interpretation of the song, guiding viewers through a creative and colorful cast of characters, including a trouble-riddled, cigarette smoking fox and an animated Courtney Barnett.
Kerr and Ruttledge had this to say about their inspiration for the video: "We liked how politically loaded and conversational the lyrics are. We wanted the animation to have a stylistic and organic look, hence most of the drawings were done on paper rather than digitally. To further compliment the lyrics, we thought it would be funny to have the animals in the video look as cynical as possible, as if they'd had enough with how humans are treating them."
